Forest Products

We sells a limited supply of naturally durable poles and posts for architectural, landscaping, agricultural and engineering uses.
All products are sourced from either our own forest or similar private forests where our standards of ecological forestry are being applied.

All our forest products are a by-product of ecological forest management based on Permaculture and Prosilva principles to improve future ecological and economic value.  Repeating cycles of forest thinning culls small and defective trees and then each  culled tree is cut and processed to maximise value and minimise waste. Highest grade uses are sawn timber ,engineering and architectural poles ahead of fence posts ahead of traditional firewood ahead of chip for biomass and biochar.

Biomass Fuel - Firewood

Wood that is of a lower grade than suitable for poles or posts is cut into ~1.5m lengths and stacked in the forest to season for at least 2 years after which it may be cat into ~300mm lengths for household heating and cooking.

Biomass Fuel - Chips

Wood waste (slash), that is usually left in the forest, is chipped for to produce a flowable fuel.
Although it is possible to chip larger diameter material, we tend to process ~60mm+ into firewood and only chip small diameter material. Leafy material is typically high in minerals (ash) and is left in the forest to compost in piles or contour windrows.

Chip size: 5-20mm

Consulting

Regenerative Micro Dairy Engineering

Our experience in the design, fabrication and operation of the regenerative ag mobile dairy and processing facilities for Sellar Dairy puts us in a unique position to provide strategic advice and technical input to enable the replication of similar operations using biomass and solar for process heat and electrical energy.

Education

Regenerative Forestry Tours and Courses

We can provide tours, workshops and other informal training opportunities to help landholders and others gain first hand experience and understanding of the principles and practises of regenerative ecological forestry and value adding to forest product yields.
